BellHawk Systems Architecture

BellHawk provides a comprehensive operations and inventory tracking and materials traceability solution for manufacturers and other industrial organizations.

At the core of a BellHawk system is a SQL Server database running on a Windows Server computer. This database is used to collect and store all the tracking history for inventory, work-in-process, labor, equipment usage, as well as receiving, picking, packing and shipping.

BellHawk uses a thin-client web-browser interface that enables devices such as PCs, MACs, Tablets, PDAs and smart-phones to access the BellHawk server through a web-browser interface over the Internet or a facilities' Intranet. If these devices are equipped with an internal or external barcode scanner they can then be used to capture transactional data from wherever there is Internet connectivity. This can be through a wired or wireless LAN or through a cell-phone data network.

For those situations where there are dead-zones in wireless communications or interference from machines or industrial processes, BellHawk also supports a store and forward technology called BSAF. Here all data capture and point-of-action warnings are performed against a local database. Then the contents of this database are automatically synchronized with the main server whenever the device is within reliable communications range.

BellHawk Systems also supports a secure cradle-mode communications for those situations where wireless communications are precluded for security or explosive environment considerations.

BellHawk comes with an extensive set of external interfaces that enable the rapid implementation of automated data exchange interfaces to a wide-range of ERP and accounting systems, including both cloud-based and legacy systems. These interfaces also support interfacing to process control and test systems and to third-party cloud-based applications, such as CRM systems.

Through its TAG technology, BellHawk works in conjunction with the BarTender Automation software to support pre-printing and print-on-demand generation of barcode labels and RFID tags on a wide-range of barcode printers.

The BellHawk software is available as software modules, which can be purchased as a perpetual license for installation within an organization's own information technology infrastructure or at a Cloud-based external data center. Or it can be purchased as a pre-integrated system, complete with all the equipment needed to work out-of-the-box.
