The Web-Mobile interface to the BellHawk software enables data capture and viewing to be performed anywhere there is network connectivity to the server running the BellHawk software. This can be over a wireless or wired LAN, a company Intranet, the Internet, or a cell-phone data network.
This data capture and viewing is performed using a Web-browser so that a thick-client application does not have to be installed on the data capture device. The Web-Mobile Interface works with PCs, MACs, tablets, PDAs, smart phones and mobile computers equipped with external or integral barcode scanners.
The Web-Mobile interface does require that each mobile device have a reliable internet connection in order to capture data or view. So it is not suitable for use in those locations where there is no internet connectivity or there is electrical interference with communications. For those cases, we recommend the use of a BellHawk solution using the BellHawk BSAF store and forward technology.
Most of the data capture features of BellHawk are now available through the Web-Mobile interface. This includes the ability to print barcode labels, in user specified formats, at remote locations.
The Web-Mobile interface also includes the ability to view and print reports over an Internet connection as well as to export data in the form of Excel spreadsheets for subsequent data analysis.
The use of the Web-Mobile interface enables BellHawk to be hosted at an external data center as well as within an organizations own data center. It also enables users to be able to use the capabilities of BellHawk from multiple locations as well as in the field.
