BellHawk consists of a set of software modules that provide the middleware between barcode scanning and printing equipment and wireless mobile data collection devices and front-office accounting, ERP and CRM systems. BellHawk Systems has invested several million dollars in the development of these software modules and the development of software tools that enable the rapid implementation of interfaces to a wide range of accounting, ERP and CRM systems.
The investment in this technology enables BellHawk Systems' technical staff to rapidly deliver tracking and traceability solutions at cost-effective prices.
The BellHawk software modules enable BellHawk Systems to rapidly and cost-effectively configure and deliver a wide range of barcode tracking and mobile data collection solutions working out-of-the box. We can deliver your solution in a few days and, if needed, in less than 24 hours. These systems can then be tailored to the specific business needs of each client, if needed. This enables solutions to be quickly implemented that are tailored to the needs of each client at a cost that is substantially less than developing each tracking application from scratch.
The BellHawk modules provide data collection interfaces with a wide variety of barcode, RFID and industrial data collection equipment. They collect the data in a SQL database where it is accessible for reporting and viewing on PCs and over the Internet. These modules written in the Basic language (VB.Net and VBA) and run on a Microsoft Windows based standard architecture.
The BellHawk modules use industry standard material tracking methods, such as license-plate tracking, to track materials by lot, serial number and container. They are used for a wide variety of tracking and traceability applications.
BellHawk Systems uses mobile data collection devices to support the needs of the mobile worker. Applications range from warehouse, stock-room and production use to field applications. Most mobile data collection is performed using wireless communications (inside the four walls) or cell-phone data networks (in the field). BellHawk also supports the use of secure-cradle mode for those applications where wireless communications is precluded due to security risks.
BellHawk Systems continues to make an on-going investment in software tools for rapidly implementing interfaces to a wide variety of ERP, accounting, CRM and process control systems. These tools are based on the concept of automated code generation and can substantially reduce the time to implement automated data transfer interfaces.
An important part of BellHawk System's technology base is it BSAF (pronounced be-safe) store-and-forward technology. This technology, which was originally developed in collaboration with the Department of Defense, is now used to ensure reliable operation of mobile data collection devices in environments where communications are intermittent and there may be extensive interference.
This BSAF technology enables reliable mobile data collection in warehouses and production areas where there may be many dead-zones caused by metal racking and building layout. It is also used in yard and off-site warehouse applications where there is no coverage. It is used to provide communications for field applications using cell-phone data networks. It is also used to provide data-base data relaying over the Internet in those situations where there are low-bandwidth and possibly intermittent data links.
