Overview of BellHawk Software

A key element in BellHawk System's ability to rapidly implement operational tracking systems at cost effective prices, is its extensive line of software modules. These modules have been developed over the years as a result of projects performed for clients. Some of these were developed as a result of seeing a common need amongst prospective clients. Others started out as customizations for clients that were later generalized and integrated into the standard set of software modules.

The BellHawk software module product line consists of a set of base systems and modules that can be added to these base systems to create a wide variety of barcode tracking solutions. For details of these software modules, please click here.

BellHawk Systems sells perpetual licenses to use its base systems and add-on software modules. The cost of purchasing the licenses to the software modules is as follows:

1. Base Systems. A perpetual license for a fully functional inventory or work-in-process tracking system can be purchased for $5,000 or the combination for $8,750.

2. A license fee of $500 for each PC that is used for production and inventory barcode scanning data entry.

3. A per mobile computer license of $1,000 for each data collection computer accessing the system on a store and forward basis. This is for units 1-5 at a single facility. For units 6-10, the license price reduces to $750 per facility and for Units 11 and above, the license price reduces to $500 per unit.

4. Licenses to optional BellHawk modules that can be purchased at an additional cost of between $1,000 and $3,750 depending on the capabilities added.

Over the years, several million dollars has been invested in the development of these modules, binary licenses to which are sold at a small fraction of their development cost. Clients who have contemplated (or even started) developing their own software have found that it is much less expensive and much quicker to use BellHawk as the basis for their custom applications rather than doing the development from scratch. For clients with their own software development capability, source code is available at an additional cost of about 50% on the base systems and modules.

A major advantage of BellHawk is that we do not charge for a per-seat license to use BellHawk, only a per-scan station. This is to enable our clients to have as many of their people as possible take advantage of all the information that is available in real-time from BellHawk at no extra cost.
