Overview of BellHawk Software Module Product Line

The BellHawk software module product line consists of a set of base systems and modules that can be added to these to create a wide variety of tracking and traceability solutions:

A BellHawk solution has four software components:

1.    A base material tracking system. A binary license for the base material tracking system costs $5,000. This includes the BellHawk material tracking server and a license for one PC based scanning station. It includes the DEX data exchange interface and licenses for use of the one operational database and one test database on one database server.

2.    A per transactional device license for PCs equipped with barcode scanners and mobile computers equipped with integral scanners. These licenses are $500 each ($400 each in quantities of 10 or more).

3.    No-cost licenses for all PCs running the BellHawk software other than those which are used for transactional data entry. This includes PCs used to view and report on tracking and traceability data. It includes PCs used to enter and view customer orders and vendor purchase orders. It also includes PCs used to view and report on the status of jobs, inventory, people and equipment.

4.    Optional modules that are priced from $500 to $2,500 depending on the capabilities added.

BellHawk Systems sells licenses to use its software products. The licensing is controlled by a security key that plugs into the USB port of the computer that is used as the central data collection server for the BellHawk system. BellHawk software licenses are required for the base system and the additional modules used. Licenses are also required for each transactional device such as PCs and mobile computers equipped with barcode scanners.

Source code licenses are also available for the base material tracking system plus most of the optional modules. These licenses carry a 50% premium over the equivalent binary modules. If source code is licensed then source code licenses must be purchased for the base system plus all of the modules that the client has purchased, for which source code is available. There is no premium for the per transaction device fees but there is a $2,500 preparation fee for releasing source code to a client.

Source code licenses are only available to those organizations that have signed the source code license agreement and have the demonstrated capability of protecting the trade secret and copyright protection provisions called for in this agreement.
