As part of this activity, BellHawk Systems sells barcode tracking and mobile data collection software that its technical staff has developed as well as reselling barcode and mobile data collection from major manufacturers. BellHawk Systems also provides consulting, installation, systems integration, training and support services.

BellHawk Systems specializes in assisting mid-sized industrial organizations such as manufacturers, industrial distributors, food processors, material converters, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, construction and defense contractors, as well as repair and maintenance organizations to use its BellHawk technology to track their business operations in real-time.

BellHawk Systems core strength lies in in those applications that require a combination of material and work-in-process tracking. These tracking systems have many benefits including:

Over the past decade, Dr. Peter Green and his team at BellHawk Systems have implemented over seventy tracking systems for a wide variety of industrial, commercial and Government clients.

BellHawk Systems Corporation is a Delaware C-Corporation that was founded in 1989 as a spin-off from WPI University and MIT. In its early years the company was mainly focused on developing software to solve a variety of tracking problems for the US Department of Defense. In the late 1990’s BellHawk Systems transitioned to serve mostly mid-sized industrial clients and in early 2000 introduced its BellHawk line of software modules.

In 2003, BellHawk Systems introduced its store-and-forward mobile computer technology. This enables secure and reliable data collection, with point-of-action data validation, in industrial operations with communications dead-zones and interference from industrial equipment. This technology also facilitates barcode data collection in remote facilities, over the Internet, as well as enabling its use in yards and other locations where there is limited wireless coverage.

In 2008 BellHawk introduced its Bell-Connector technology that enables rapid implementation of data exchange interfaces between unlike databases. These are two examples of BellHawk System’s on-going investment in software technology to enable its clients to successfully implement barcode tracking solutions in as short a time and as cost-effectively as possible.

While much of BellHawk Systems industrial experience was, and still is, focused on tracking production and warehouse operations in manufacturing plants, today BellHawk handles a much wider array of challenges. Some of the interesting projects that BellHawk Systems has been recently involved in include:

1. Preventing employee mistakes and gathering tracking and traceability data in food processing plants ranging from mushrooms to yogurt and olive oil.

2. Tracking textbooks and other documents used by the US Navy for their fleet training exercises and distance learning programs.

3. Tracking DNA samples and reagents used in testing DNA samples for biotechnology companies.

4. Tracking materials that are HIPPA and FDA regulated. These include materials used in pharmaceutical manufacturing and food processing and tracking medical devices and supplies.

5. Tracking materials used in a billion dollar water filtration plant for the New York water authority.
